i want wild

 i want to be wild
bare feet pressed in to wet earth
and hands
hands
reaching for the whispers carried on the  wind
wild i want
to be
me
water running
rushing, racing
i race against waters that flow into me
tresses flying free
skin warmed by the intimate rays of sunshine
cascading down from the heavens
holding me, wrapping me in life
i want to run
muscles flexing, working
blood pumping, feeding life in to my excess
feed me earth
feel me earth
earth
need me
sweet life radiating raucous vivacity
i want wild

The world is coming for me
bangin on my door
Trying to compromise me
always wanting more

I see the life I want
never thought I'd be
trying to chase it down
its always out of reach

But then I think about
the promise that he made me
And then I realize
Whats mines is only made for me

I can't explain to you
the way it makes me feel
to know that with his perfect love
I can be healed

Poppalot (a Poem for our Father)

Poppalot
(a Poem for our Father)
I love you
Oh, God knows how much
I love you
And every day I wake up

How much I’m thinking of you
How much I miss our fights
Our laughter, your crazy ways
How much I want you near me
Giving advice on those hard days

I love you
Oh, God knows how much
I love you
And every day I wake up
How much I’m thinking of you

How much you loved our children
And helped us make them strong
How much you cared for us
Always there when things went wrong
Fixing tires
And cars that wouldn’t start
Creating memories
That we hold close to our heart

I love you
Oh, God knows how much
I love you
And every day I wake up
How much I’m thinking of you

You gave us life, you gave us love
And the southern charm that
we adore
We will miss you every hour
Every day and forever more

A Poem for Shequila

Just like the flower
that does not bloom in spring
no purity is lost
the beauty there still remains
tucked away in that special place
safe and secure from the world

though the world could not see
my eyes were gifted with sight
for a time she honored me
with her true self

I saw it
her spirit; a vibrant hue
that few have ever seen

such a special flower
I watched her grow
and change
and become more
more than just the seed that was planted

she touched me
showed me the magic that
that had grown from that blessed seed

and now that her winter has come
I will remember springtime
the purity, the beauty, and the magic
